to the Sigma Tau Delta, Iota Xi chapter of the international English Honors Society at Chaminade University of Honolulu!
About the Iota Xi Chapter:
Professor Jon H. James, founded the Iota Xi chapter in 1977 at Chaminade University to incorporate the international English
Honors Society's ideals with that of Chaminades English studies programs to give their students the opportunity to enhance
their educational and career goals.
A Sigma Tau Delta chapter is more than just another college club. It is a unique entity that opens the doors of opportunity
for its members and facilitates academic, professional, and personal growth. There are nearly 600 active chapters across the
world, each defined by its location and membership, yet bound to the rest by the common goal of promoting excellence in the
disciplines of the English language.
Members of every chapter have the opportunity to share their love of literature and linguistics with like-minded peers, participate
in rewarding activities, and be recognized for their accomplishments. They may also apply, or in some cases instantly qualify,
for one or more of the Society's numerous awards and scholarships.
So if you think that joining Sigma Tau Delta as a member might be an excellent opportunity to enhance your college educational
goals, drop in on one of our society meetings held during the school semester and see wht it is all about!
Iota Xi would like to extend a hearty Aloha to both Professor James Krause, and Professor Poranee Natadecha Sponsel for accepting
the positions of Academic Advisors to our international English Honors Society on the Chaminade Campus!
We would also like to send out a fond fare thee well and mahalo to retiring Englsih Professor Jon H. James for establishing
our chapter and also for 27 years of mentoring and advising the many members who have joined Sigma Tau Delta throughout the
years. We love you and want to wish you success on your future endeavors with the Premananda Orphanage in Ongole, India!
